- How do I win?
- Take turns dropping counters into the grid. The first player to line up four of their own counters in a row — across, up and down, or diagonally — wins.
- What ways can I play?
- Play against the computer, pass one device between two players, play against someone on another device on the same Wi-Fi network, or play online.
- Who goes first?
- You go first in the first game, and it swaps every time you tap Play again.
- How do I play a friend on Wi-Fi?
- Both phones need to be on the same Wi-Fi network or the same phone hotspot — no internet needed. One player taps Play on Wi-Fi > Host a Game; the other taps Play on Wi-Fi and picks "Join <name>'s game". If the game doesn't show up, check both phones are on the same network; turning Wi-Fi off and on again usually fixes it.
- Online says it can't connect
- Online play needs an internet connection. Check you're online and try again in a minute — if it still fails, the server may be restarting. Meanwhile you can still play against the computer, pass and play, or play on Wi-Fi with no internet at all.
- What happens if my opponent disconnects in an online game?
- Their seat is held for a short time so they can reconnect. If they don't come back, the computer takes over their seat so you can finish the game.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There's no account or login. For online play you just choose a nickname — don't use your real name or anything personal in it.
- Are there ads?
- No. Connect Four has no advertising.
- How do I report a bug or ask about my data?
- Your settings and progress are stored only on your device. Connect Four sends us an anonymous activity signal while the game is open, and when you play online it sends your nickname and moves to our game server for that match only — they aren't saved.
